The first level adminstrative division of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the Emirate. The country consists of a total of seven Emirates. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federal constitutional monarchy made up from a federation of the seven hereditary tribal monarchy-styled political units called Sheikhdoms.
